Custom Lookup Field in Micosoft Dynamics

Has anyone managed to do this successfully? Would be interested in hearing how it was accomplished. Have seen some documentation on how this is done on the SFDC side but never on Dynamics. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can you explain more about what you're looking for specifically? This term "lookup field" means nothing specifically for me.

Hi,
We are looking for how marketo can  manage lookup field in Micosoft Dynamics correctly.

Adam, In MS CRM, you have a type of field which looks like a picklist, but it looks for value in another entity. For exemple, you can see a field Country on Prospect, where you have 200 Values, but those values are not directly on entity Prospect, but in another entity "country" in Dynamics. It's the same thing for campagn source of Dynamics.

How it works : Marketo takes the value from CRM and shows it on GUID Code : it means in Marketo you don't see the value you see in CRM but the kind of internal key which is associated to this value in CRM. So you need to translate it to readable things yourself.

What we see : if you update the value in Marketo, they can't update value of this look up field in CRM ... (use GUID or clear value)

Does sb has the same problem  ? Any body has experience about how to manage country for Marketo - MS Dynamics ? do you use picklist in Dynamics instead of look up field ?

Hi Daniel,

Finally we created another string field in Marketo, and sync with a string field in CRM. Then a workflow is created on CRM side to update between the "string field" and "look up field".

Hope that helps.
