Cookie Consent Question

Hi - My company is implementing a cookie consent solution. I know it affects web and form tracking if the user declines cookie tracking. Does is affect any behavioral tracking for emails?  For example, if a known record, opens or clicks an email, will the Munchkin Code still track that behavior if they decline cookies? Thanks.

Form tracking — as in the Filled Out Form activity — doesn’t depend on cookies, actually. Though without cookies, you won’t see web visits & web clicks in the person’s activity log after a form submission, because there’s no Munchkin session to associate.

Clicked Email and Opened Email do not use cookies.

But there’s a big question here that you’re leaving out, which is “If a person opts out of tracking in general, should we be tracking their email clicks and opens?” You should speak openly with your legal team about this. When our clients let people opt-out of tracking for regulatory purposes, most include clicks and opens in that opt-out.
