In the July release announcement that Marketo sent this morning, they said:

"Communication limits – automatically control the number of emails any one individual can receive. Simply set a daily and weekly email limit, and the system will do the rest."

So I'd assume it's like you said, globally but for each lead. I'm sure as soon as it comes out, we'll see 5,000 ideas about how we need to customize it this way and that ...

My question is how much will it cost those of us that aren't Enterprise or Select...

I've got over 6 million leads, so I hope I don't have to assign a control on them individually!  I'm hoping it's that you can set it so nobody gets more than x number of emails per day or per week.

Agreed! We don't have anywhere close to 6m leads, but I still don't want to root through thousands of people for it. I'm sure that's not how it will work.

But I do wonder if we can do some segmenting. Such as, for leads in the healthcare industry, they can get 3 emails a month, but leads in manufacturing can only get two. Totally hypothetical there, but it might be valuable to have different limits based on industry, job title, whether they're a lead or a client, etc.

Kim also had some valuable questions (that I was wondering about as well) in this discussion.
