character appearing in lead records

Is anyone else having issues with this character appearing in their lead records: �. It seems that Marketo isn't recongizing accent marks in a leads first name/last name/company name/etc. and replacing it with a � character.

Kristen, it could be that you are uploading lists with international characters as "CSV", in which case this is what happens. I'd upload as "tab-delimited unicode text". For our forms, we have tested and it takes the international input just fine.

You need to save as CSV UTF 8.
  1. Save as CSV
  2. Open in Notepad
  3. Save As...File Type UTF8 *.* All files (but keep .csv in file name).
  4. this will resolve the problem.
