Changing SFDC type from contact to lead

I imported a list to Marketo and added them to a program. I then synced the program to SFDC, but when I viewed the campaign members there were 5 that are leads and the rest are contacts. So I tried to do a change data value of SFDC type to Contacts. But it didn't work.  Any thoughts on why I couldn't change it from Marketo?

I wanted to take away the manual labor of our data associate from having to convert the 5 records from leads to contacts in SFDC.  Because for another campaign she has to convert 42 records :(.

Michele, you have to use the Convert Lead flow action to do this in Marketo.  But be aware that an Opportunity will be created by default and unless the Company Name is the same as an existing Account Name, a new Account will be created.  We just have our reps convert the Lead in SFDC since it offers more flexibility.  You may want to vote for the Add More Control the "Convert Lead" Flow Action Idea.

Thanks for the suggestion Elliott.  And I voted for the idea.
