change the width of the email template?

Our graphic designer created an email header that I'm inserting into the Blank Template email.   I want to keep my text at the same width but can't figure out where to go to set the width.  Can I change the email width?  If so, how?

How do I make that change?  Where do I find the dimensions?

You need to have someone experienced with HTML make this change as it could be implemented in a number of ways.
