Challenges When Partitioning Accounts

We are in the process of partitioning our parent company account from the account I am working on. Both reach different audience types, and each have a completely different set of lead groups.

For those who have partitioned accounts or companies within Marketo, what issues did you come across when doing this? Do you have any suggestions for best practice while I transition our Marketo account into two?

Thanks!

The main challenge I see is dealing with leads that belong to both departments.  You may need three partition, one for each department and one for shared leads.  Otherwise you may need to have duplicates.

Jesse,

I assume you mean you are implementing Workspaces and Lead Partitions? Or do you mean that you will split ONE instance into TWO instances of Marketo?

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the response. To clarify, I am looking to create two workplaces

and partitions for each one. The background is that we have two companies,

Applause and uTest. They have completely different leads and want to

separate our access to divide up the Applause Leads from the uTest leads.
