I want to capture in the activity history of a lead record when a Marketo  alert email fires - I am thinking of creating a 'custom task' field? Thoug

Hi Jenny,

If you're doing this for reporting purposes in SFDC then creating a task va a flow action would be your best option.
If you use Sales Insight then you could create a milestone that would show up on the lead'/contact's MSI view but this would not be reportable.
