cannot change SFDC owner

I keep getting the message below when changing the SFDC owner in Marketo. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Is that User inactive? Is there a sync problem?

Hi Josh! Yes the lead owner is not longer with the company so are trying to reassign the owners to someone else. We are able to do it for majority of records except for this one lead owner in particular. Any ideas what's going on?

I use Demand Tools with the "reassign ownership" feature. Demand tools specifically works with Salesforce, but is super efficient and solves a lot of headaches.

I find that reassigning owners in Salesforce translates much easier to Marketo than changing the lead owner in Marketo. Try that?
