Can you use an email from an email program in a smart campaign?

Marketo is not letting me select my approved email in my email program in a smart campaign with a trigger of opens email or filter of opened email. Can you not use approved emails nested under email programs in smart campaigns?

You should be able to reference any approved email in a smart campaign. I would take this up with support.

Did you ever get an answer from support about this? I'm having a similar issue. When I was building the campaign I could select the email within other smart campaigns such as a triggered campaign to identify clicks, however, when I assign the email to the email program its as if the email doesn't exist outside of that email program. Let me know what support told you.

Thanks,

Pieter

I never did get an answer from support. But I still had the issue in the email send program. I went around it by using visited landing page as the trigger instead that the email link directed to in order to get around this. The functionality lost with Email Sends is why we've moved away from using Email Send programs and tend to use Email Blasts in the default program. If you do hear from Support on this, please let me know!

That's a good work around. I was hoping not to have to do something like that. This email has a lot of different links. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks

Not sure if you're still waiting for a response, but it looks like emails within Email Programs aren't available to other Smart Campaigns or programs.

I'm trying to trigger actions off of Opens and Clicked Links, so I have to forego any a/b testing. I don't understand why Marketo would block off any further actions from a/b tests.

I just want the same A/B testing in regular programs, that the Email Program uses.  Champion/challenger is not an option for us since it can't be used for batch campaigns.
