Can you concatenate system date fields?

Is it possible to concatenate system date fields?  I do this pretty routinely with text fields, but does anyone have any experience with trying to using system date stamps?

I'm familiar with time stamping AQL, MQL, and SQL dates on lead records but would it be possible to use a long text field to concatenate the system date values?   My client's use case is kind of unique.  There are 7 verticials a lead can receive marketing campaigns from--and they are qualified along those verticals individually. So if a lead reaches AQL in Vertical 1, and then reached AQL in Vertical 2 - I'd like to concatenate both dates in one concatenated AQL field.  I'm worried there may be conflicts with writing a date field to a text field, but is that in theory workable?

As long as it is a text/string field, you should be ok. I've done this before with comment history fields.
