Can we prevent de-duplicating for leads who fill out a specific form?

Hi,

Is there a way to automatically create a new lead when they fill out a form, even if there is already a lead with the same email address in our database?

Thanks!

I don't think there is a way to do this within Marketo forms. You might need to use one of the APIs to pass the leads in uniquely. If you are using SFDC, you could create a web to lead form and pass it into SFDC which would then sync into Marketo. Also, you could explore custom objects for this type of situation.

Keep in mind that even if you are able to get them logged as two or three leads there will be limitations to what how you communicate with them (ex. an email program sent to the three dupes will only hit one of the leads submitted infromation).

Hi Marie,

Marketo automatically dedupes leads who fill out a form more than once if they use the same email address.  Could you explain a bit further why you want to have two records for the same email?

Hi Val,

I have run into same issue. Sometimes a manager at a company will fill in more than one training registration form on behalf of plantsite employees who may not have an email account or computer access.

Hi,

Thank you both for your answers.
Exactly Karen, sometimes an assistant wants to register two executives to our event with her own email address, or sometimes we have an old data in our CRM...
As we will use the information of this form to create badges we need it to be absolutely clean and as it was entered.
So Karen how did you handle that?
Val, do you have any idea?

Thanks in advance :)

Marie,
This is still an open issue for us.
I can download a report of all the campaign members, but only the most recently entered registration info is included in the report. If I happen to know the email address of a multi-signup instance, I can view the Marketo ID's activity log for it and see all the info. But that activity is not included in a report.

Karen and Marie, could you use additional conditional visibility fields related to "I want to register another person"? This could potentially solve your issue, but would require some work.

Have you added text/instructions on the landing page that instructs the visitor to either use the email associated with who will be attending the event instead of their own?

Another idea: maybe you could use the Marketo email address field to have them put the name of who is attending (the executives) and have a custom field for Secondary Contact so the assistants could enter their email address there instead.

Hi Val,
Yes, we added text near the email field indicating [Do not use same email address for multiple registrations].

Thank you all for your answers, I'll use a SFDC form to push the creation of the leads and then sync with Marketo.

Hi,

I've submitted an idea about that, if you want to support it :
