Can Marketo be synched to login records in a separate application?

We want to synchronize the user login records that our customers create in our SAAS application, Searchlight, with Contact records in Salesforce.  Currently we are doing this via a manual process every few days.  Is it possible to have these login records synchronize to Marketo lead records via the API? 

Additionally, if a new Searchlight login email address doesn't exist in a Marketo lead record, we would want to create a new lead record that would result in a SFDC Contact record being created that is associated with the appropriate Account.

Can this be done and is there any documentation for either of these processes?

You can do this via the SOAP API, documentation here: https://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000Kyr5CAC (attached as PDF). 

If you want to match this to SFDC Accounts, it may make more sense to integrate with SFDC's API rather than Marketo. Marketo does not create new Contacts in SFDC, only Leads.
