can a lead enter a nurture stream from a download on our website, then two months later download another piece of content to place them in the same nurture stream.  Will they go through the steam again?  Thanks.

Hi Sherin,

Only if the content in the stream has changed. When the cast happens, the stream will send the lead the first email in the stream which the lead hasn't already received. This is based on the email asset's ID on the back-end, not the content of the email itself. If they've already received all of the emails in the stream, they are marked as "exhausted". In fact, unless you removed them from the stream, they would still be in the stream, but simply exhausted for those two months. A campaign which said to add them to the stream would have no effect since they were already in the stream, but exhausted.

I hope that helps

I asked this question while training and they told me that leads can only go through a stream once.

Hi Sherin Baday,

The answer to the main question, "Can a lead enter a nurture stream twice?" is technically no.  I say 'technically' because it is entirely possible to setup an Engagement Program in which a lead can switch between different Streams.  I hope that makes sense.  However, this does not mean they will receive the same content in the stream (if they've already received the content once, they will skip over the content and be sent the next piece they haven't received in the stream).

In regards to the details you provided, if I downloaded another piece of content and a Smart Campaign was set to have me added to the same stream in question nothing would occur (it would attempt to add me to a Stream I was already a member of).

Hope this is clear

Best,

Edwin
