Best Resource for Managing Your Database and Importing Lists?

Can somebody point me to the best resource for working with your database and importing lists?  We don't presently integrate with a CRM, but will need to import from home-grown POS systems to 'close the loop' on our marketing efforts and to track changes with our customer-base, over time.

Thanks in advance for any pointers on best-practices here!

So you are importing a list from your POS into Marketo?

The import list discussions should help. A few tips:
  1. have an import template with the columns named after the Marketo Field Names (this will go faster).
  2. establish a regular cadence - eg: each Friday you do this.
  3. decide which fields in Marketo to NOT override. You can use Field Blocking to do this.

Marketo de-duplicates imported leads based on email address. Leads imported from multiple POS systems will update existing records if they already exist.

The "deep dive" on lists is a good starting point

Thanks, guys.  This was pretty helpful.  Found most of what I needed in the deep-dive and appreciate the comment on establishing a "regular cadence".  We're actually looking at Talend as a possible integration tool to automate this piece, if possible.

Much appreciated!
