Be able to change Salesforce campaign owner when creating a campaign from a Marketo program

When a new campaign is created from a Marketo program, that campaign automatically belongs to the Marketo Sync user and one needs to go to SFDC to reassign the campaign to the real marketing owner. This may cause issues as the salesforce security sharing rules may not authorize this.

So it should be possible to reassign Salesforce campaigns to another SFDC user just after creating it.

I agree with this - anything that requires a 'manual' step by someone having to enter two software programs creates the possibility for human error and I have experienced issues myself in the past when attempting to edit the owner in SFDC. As it happens in our case we now create campaign codes in SFDC and use the 'add to SFDC campaign' flow step in Marketo and therefore this won't make a difference to us but I do recognise the problem and think this is a good idea.

Hi Colin,

The issues you had in SFDC are frequent, because when one logs in to SFDC, he does so with its own SFDC user, not with Marketo's. As a result, one tries to change the owner of a campaign that he does not own. Depending on how the sharing rules are set, most of the time, this will not be possible.
