Automatic Removal of Duplicates?

I'm trying to send out an email to members that fall in either a master smart list or another (smaller) list. By selecting "members of ANY..", does Marketo automatically recognize that some members may be in both and remove the duplicate? I want to be sure that people who fall in both groups won't be receiving two copies of the same email.

Hi Christine,

A Marketo email program, or a smart campaign with a single Send Email flow step will automatically filter out duplicates.  Each of these methods will only send one email to each email address in the campaign/program, so even though there may be duplicates with the same email address, the message only gets sent to one of them.
