Automated way to split email sends into multiple days/times?

Can someone advise the most efficient way to split our email sends over multiple days/times?  Currently we are using random sample and excluding addresses that have already been emailed.  This results in creating multiple lists and folders and campaigns blah blah.  There must be an automated way to handle this... right?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
