As a developer I want to set up an email preference center to manage subscriptions

Hi there,

I'm doing some exploratory work for a client, particularly around creating an email subscription service that allows subscribers to manage their subscriptions. I've been looking for documentation on how to set up/configure such a center, without much success to date.

Can someone point me in the right direction to get this started. I'm approaching this from the perspective of a developer, so any pointers on the technicalities of doing such a thing would be appreciated.
