Are Marketo IDs reused?

Are the Marketo IDs of deleted leads reused?

Are they assigned to new leads later? A new lead from a web form, let's say?

Why do I care, you might ask? Other than being somewhat of a Marketo geek, there is a useful reason to know:

If IDs are not reused, the I can tell the relative age of the lead, to one another i.e. the bigger the ID the newer the lead.

But, I think I've seen new leads with smaller IDs, so the above "lead aging" functionality seems voided.

What d'all know?

Rodney

IDs are not reused.

But that is not the same as saying that gaps in the sequence (if they exist for reasons other than deleted IDs) may not be filled in by chronologically later leads..

What about when importing from other instances (such as Sandbox)?

Will they match, because I have seen them differ...

They can't be guaranteed to match because there's no way to ensure the same IDs won't already be allocated in the target db.
