Any thoughts on Marketo LPs vs. using Web LPs?

Curious to get opinions on using the Marketo landing pages versus using landing pages on our website? Does any one feel that one works better than the other or if there are more benefits to using a particular one?

Hi Erica,

My company actually just wrote a blog post on this exact topic.  The main idea of the post is when to use your corporate website versus Marketo landing pages.

The main takeaways it highlights are defined here:

  • Any initiative that is expected to have active promotions longer than three months should be built on the corporate website.
  • Any initiatives originally published on a marketing automation platform that have shown [X] amount of traffic over the last three months should be considered for migration to the corporate website.
  • Time-sensitive initiatives that require launch within one week will be granted launch on the MAP with permission from [Person X].
  • Initiatives that are highly dependent on personalization are best suited for a MAP.
  • Initiatives that are expected to drive less than [X] amount of traffic are allowed to deploy within the MAP.

Hope that helps!

These are good guidelines in general.

It depends a bit on the size of firm, branding issues, and technical issues. I prefer that most pages go on the main website using embed code, and as Courtney pointed out, smaller campaigns or short term things like events are probably easier to post on a marketo landing page.
