Any news on Marketo REST API?

Recently, we came to know that Marketo has created REST API which is in controlled access control mode. Anybody willing to share their experiences? Any documentation on REST API which we can share? Any comparison on performance when we use REST API?
How do we get access to REST API?

The REST APIs are available to anyone who requests access today. It will become available to all customers by the end of this quarter.

You can request access by sending a mail to restapibeta@marketo.com. Our team will enable the APIs and share a PDF documentation. We also hope to have public documentation on http://dev.marketo.com by early May
