Adding Activities to a Lead

The plan is to add transactions to the Activity Log from our system.  I don't see any "updateActivityLog" or any way to add activities.

Am I missing something?

What kind of activity are you wanting to register? You could utilize the requestCampaign feature to log activities via the API.

I am not sure if this is completely off. But if you are syncing to salesforce you choose what items are synced over as activities. For example you could map over form fills, and everytime someone fills out a form it will map over as an activity. If your Forms correlated with Transactions that might work. It seems like that might be on your crm side?

They want me to add our survey results into the Activity List, so I'm planning to do something like:

Activity Name - "Visit Web site" (because I can't make up my own activities [least I haven't found how])
Detail - "Q: Would you like Sales to followup? A:YES"

I'm really surprised there isn't a simple API to pump data into Marketo!  Isn't that the whole point?!
