Add Field to Unique Constraint?

We integrate with our point-of-sale system and have just noticed a conflict where family members are using the same email address.  I know that Marketo is using the email address as the unique key, but was curious if the capability exists to add another field to that constraint (like first name).  Does anybody know if this is possible and/or have suggestions for how to handle this?  (beyond phoning the customers and asking them for unique emails)

Thanks!

John

Hi John,
Yes! This is possible. Marketo Support will be able to add more fields that will have to match before Marketo will deduplicate. For example, if you add first name as a deduplciation field, Marketo will only deduplicate if the email address and first name of the new lead match with the existing one.

This is not recommended since unwanted duplicates can be created when this is enabled.

However, if you accept the risks, open up a Support Ticket and ask for a new custom deduplication field (list the field(s) you want in the Ticket).
