Acquisition Program Not Being Set

We recently launched a new website on wordpress and have decided to build out all webinars and resources on our wordpress site as opposed to using Marketo landing pages. Everything appeared to be working fine, until I noticed that the acquisition program is no longer being set upon form submission. I created a work around that manually adds the acquisition program when a lead is created without this information, but I'd love to figure out why this stopped working. I supect that it has something to do with the way that we've integrated the forms on our site. Has anyone else experienced and resolved this issue?

The acquisition program will really only be automatically set when you have a Marketo form on a landing page local to a Program that captures the lead. Once you step outside of that, you'll have to include triggered campaigns in your Programs to set the acquisition program.

Is the form still a Marketo form? Is it iframed onto WordPress if so?

I agree with Drew. Another thing to note is that the acquisition program is only assigned when the Lead is new. You must be careful with your workaround because if the Lead existed already, you don't want the program getting credit for something that it should not. The only way to change the acquisition program is through flow steps.

To echo Drew, are you using a Mkto form? How do you have this set up?

We are using Marketo forms, but we're not using iframes to embed these on the page. Instead, we're using a hardcoded form, which writes to a marketo form. Sounds like we'll need to reconsider using iframes to avoid additional work arounds. Thanks for the clarification!

Yeah, I find that it's good practice anyways to set the acquisition program via a flow action. It ensures you don't lose anything. Also, once you build it into a Program, you can just clone that Program and it requires much less work.

It took me absolute ages to find this! I was about to set up flow steps but was worried I would break some sort of in-system flow. Thanks Drew and Jeff!

Concering the Marketo form on the Marketo landing page...

Are both required to be local assets in the program for acquisition to be set automatically, or is only the landing page necessary (and the form can live anywhere)? We typically keep local forms in the program, but I'm considering moving them out and sharing them in Design Studio, but I don't want to do that if it will break the automatic acquisition program.

Hi Michael,

The Landing Page must be local to the program, but the form does not need to be.

What are the flow steps to set that acquisition program that wouldn't take credit for something tha it shouldn't.

If I do Change data value add choice if Acquisition program is empty set acquisition program as insert name of program here.

1) Can I use a token if so which.
2) A lot of current leads have ac program empty so I do I prevent those from getting over written and taking credit where it shouldn't.
