A/B testing results - email level data

I've run a few test A/B and Champion/Challenger tests in Marketo, and the tests don't appear to have Email Details data accessible through the API. Because of this, we can’t pull the full test results back into our CRM for reporting/analysis, and we’ve been reluctant to use A/B testing features of Marketo.

Does anyone out there have a solution or good workaround for this? I've seen some posts in the community about tracking the results in Excel or using "random sample " in a smart campaign in place of the A/B test features of Marketo.
