Hi there, Is there a method to prevent the sync of the lead with the invalid email to salesforce? For example: The form submission with an incorrect email will fail. Only after the email is confirmed valid (e.g. the thank-you email is delivered) will the lead be synchronized to salesforce. Our sales are tired of handling leads with invalid emails. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!  

Happy Friday, Community!   For leads that fill out a form associated with a program, I've always assumed that Marketo will assign that program as the Acquisition Program (with associated date). However, upon reading Setting Acquisition Best Practices, it seems that might not be the case for embedded Marketo forms (while we have some Marketo landing pages, our primary use of forms is embedded on our website).   If, indeed, embedded Marketo forms do not automatically set this and we have to include a Change Data Value Step in our smart campaigns: Is it safe to assume that Acquisition Program field updates are blocked automatically in Marketo? Given that this is a system only field, I can't see details for it in Field Management Should Acquisition Program Name be set up to block field updates? Or does the block on the Acquisition Program field cover this related field as well? Is it worthwhile including a condition on the Change Data Value Step to denote "if Acquisition Pr

Hello team, My company is creating a preference center outside of Marketo since we need to be able to unsubscribe from other providers. Is it possible to set up the unsubscribe url with a dynamic variable (in this case, the lead id) in Marketo, so that every mail can have that unsubscribe link in all emails?

We are attempting to utilize the JS API for Marketo to send tracking events upon successful submission of the forms that would redirect the user to a custom URL triggered  by the  form submission onSuccess event handler.   The issue I am seeing is that when the onSuccess event handler is executed, the only way to have custom redirects is to use location.href and because of the nature of the redirect , how wall network requests are cancelled once the browser identifies it is being asked to change page location.   Can an update be made to the JS API. Instead of asking us to return false and handle the redirect ourselves it would be ideal to allow us to pass the customized URL to have the code go ahead and redirect to after all the onSuccess handlers are executed(unless false is returned). Can provide if there is a recommended way to go about this, or can you help some to this solution.

Hi,   I wanted to know if it is possible to create a transition rule that says "if the lead clicks at least 3 different links of the 5 links in these emails, move them to stream 2".   If this is not possible, can we do it in a campaign?   Thank you

We have a form on our company website that begins with a dropdown to select what kind business unit you're interested in. Based on your selection, the form changes. How do I set up the alert to send to different lead owners based on which drop selection a user makes?

I want to create a transition rule based on clicks in links, like in this example:   "if people clink in this link, send them to stream 2", i am just not sure if i should create this transition rule into the stream 1 (the one that has the link" or in the stream 2 (the one i want them to move).   Thank you

Is there a way to use two fields in a custom object to calculate a third field?  For example, I have two fields on my custom object - one for the date a trip begins, and another for the number of days a trip lasts.  Can I somehow calculate the date a trip ends?  Webhook or something?   The trip end date doesn't necessarily need to be an additional custom object field, it could be calculated elsewhere - just in a way that I could use a smart campaign filter or trigger to send emails (e.g., "welcome home from your trip!") based off that data.

It’s easy to get distracted by setting up DKIM (everyone still should, don’t get me wrong) and SPF (users with custom envelope sender domains should, but standard shared instances don’t need to) and overlook other DNS tasks.   Surprisingly, those “top o’ the setup checklist” DNS records are more nice-to-haves than must-haves, unless your own org has chosen to publish these policies.   Yes, if your security and risk folks want recipients to authenticate messages that appear to be from your domain, you need DKIM + (if applicable) SPF + DMARC too. But if not, you can do without these records.   (To be clear, not having a record isn’t the same as having a record and failing validation. A broken DKIM signature is very bad, but not signing isn’t. Likewise, failing SPF is very bad, not having an SPF record is meh.[1])   Confusion about who sets up DKIM and SPF, and what they do, can obscure a far more important DNS ta

I have added bot links to the email and the flow to remove the bot clicks, but he is still performing in that flow step. Can you suggest?  

We've created a landing page to download a series of reports and a form in a lightbox that captures the asset ID in a hidden field of the report they clicked on. Once they submit the form I want to send them a confirmation email that will have the report name and URL to download the report. I'm assuming this can be done via tokens but I can't find an answer of how to update the name and URL in the email based on the asset ID from the form (using the ID rather than the URL so it's not contained within the code of the landing page).   Is there a way to do this with dynamic email content or is the only way to create a separate email for each report and send the appropriate email via flow choices?

We'd like to send a daily (internal) company wide email listing everyone's work anniversary that day. We don't have any issues automating an email send to all employees each day, but having trouble with the email content itself. Is there a way to generate/update that email content automatically each day?   We have all employees as Contacts in Marketo and a work anniversary as a date field for each. The subscribe to list option doesn't work since it only sends a link rather than generating the list within the email itself.

Hi there: there were a few previous discussions about this but from a few years back, so I'm optimistically hoping the answer is different now... Here's the situation:We have a software trial that we'd like to track the downloads of. Engineering suggested hosting in Marketo so that we can better report, but from what I see we can't report on images/files within design studio?  I've tried 'clicked link' within the landing page for the 'download' link, but that didn't seem to pull the info. Ideally, we'd like to track who downloaded, including IP info so we can filter our IPs.Any suggestions?

Hi.  Couple questions about REST API "merge".   Do I need to use {leadId} or can I use some other API Name? What does the {leadId} refer to, is it Marketo's unique ID that it puts on a lead or the lead's email address? What is this doing, merging files where the {leadId} is the same or all the information on the leads' file is the same except for the {leadId} and so it merges the two files? Can I list out multiple API names in the brackets? For example, {leadId, facebookId, leadStatus}? Can I put a specific date or a range in this >  POST /rest/v1/leads/{leadId}/merge.json Can I do this in the web browser because I am prohibited to use Postman, Python, or any other software to run the CALL.   Thank you for your help.

Hello Marketo Community,   My company is currently migrating from an old Marketo instance to a new one. One of the issues that we came across while setting up SPF/DKIM and DMARC is that we have certain "reply to" addresses that are not being regularly monitored by staff members due to the large volume of emails that come through them. We also have other sets of "reply to" addresses that can potentially receive the same kinds of questions, despite them having different purposes. Though our organization has been receiving email responses over the last few years, figuring out how to manage the large volume of email inquiries is uncharted territory for us. Therefore, we have listed several questions below that we hope can help guide us towards an effective solution.   What are the general best practices for monitoring incoming email responses to your marketing campaigns. Hello Everyone,    We want to send few invite emails to large contact base And we want to use specific person name (Host Name) in the From Name field but will be using generic marketing mail id in the From Address not the host email address. Like the email has received from the host name. I want to understand will that affect the spam score of host mail address. As the email will be going to a large contact base.

We are creating a landing page for one of our teams that will 'host' multiple reports they'll be creating, I know the simplest way would be to redirect to a download page for each report when they click on it but I was wondering if there's a way to have the download form appear as a pop-up instead so it keeps them on the main report page? And will this work for obviously having a different form for each report?   Also, if we already have their details and/or they have filled out their details to download a report from the page, can a subsequent form keep those details if they want to download another report?
