Question

Tracking pixel consent at profile level

Hi users, due to new rules of GDPR here in Italy, the privacy act ask us to set a major control on tracking pixels; by far we know that we can set the otion at action level, with the specific chck-box, but, for us, having over 500 email templates active in 100 jouirneys it’s impossible to create a copy for every action w or w/o tracking. So the qustion:

is it possible to block the tracking pixel at profile level, setting a boolean field that automatically blocks/uncheck the pixels while sending the email? Hpe it’s clear, thank you for support

@PietroAm1 ,

Unfortunately, this is not possible today according to Adobe's documentation. In Journey Optimizer, the open-tracking pixel is controlled only through the "Email opens" option on each email action. No profile-level attribute is documented that disables it at send time, and the consent field (consents.marketing.email.val) only determines whether the profile receives the email at all.

The only documented approach is to branch on a consent attribute into two email actions, one with Email opens unchecked, which is the duplication you wish to avoid. Given the priority, I would recommend raising this directly with your Adobe Customer Success Manager or technical account manager, and submitting it on the Ideas board.

Regards,

Santhosh
