I am sending SMS text messages and need to adhere to quiet hours. I am having trouble building an expression in AJO that sends at 1 PM in the fans local time zone.

@annawi6 There are a couple of ways you can do this,

When you've a time zone defined for a profile, use the profile timezone directly in the journey properties.

"If a time zone has been defined for a profile, it will be retrieved and used by the journey. If it hasn’t, the time zone used will be the one defined in the timezone field."

Use the quiet hours functionality. Again, this is dependent on the timezone defined on the profile level. Note that it's on limited availability. You may have to ask your CSM to enable this for you.

Is there any way to read time zone on the device and apply those settings?

Profile time zone is better than nothing, but customers travel and change time zones intermittently. Modern cellular devices adjust automatically to new time zones. Is there no way to programmatically read the local time zone on device and apply quiet hours from that data point?

@FrankLee The most effective method in this scenario is to directly update the AEP profile's time zone field. This update should be triggered via the mobile app's SDK and applied to the user's profile immediately upon a change in their location.
