Switching to Adobe Journey Optimizer, made easier
Introducing Onboarding in Journey Optimizer: Built-in capabilities that accelerate your time to value.
The customer engagement market keeps moving. Platforms change hands, roadmaps shift, and contracts come up for renewal. When that happens, many teams take a fresh look at their stack and ask the same practical question: How much work is it to switch?
Any platform transition involves real work. That is true of every modern platform and every team that has made the move. The better question is how much of that work you should have to do by hand.
Onboarding in Adobe Journey Optimizer is built to answer those questions. It is a guided experience inside the product, not a separate tool or services engagement. It works alongside your team, your partner, or Adobe Consulting.
Why platform moves feel heavy.
Teams moving to a new platform consistently run into the same four things:
- Time. Converting assets, rebuilding workflows and business logic, and validating everything before going live takes sustained effort.
- Coordination. Marketing, IT, and data teams all have a stake, and without a shared path every handoff adds delay.
- Decisions. Teams spend real time deciding what to bring forward, how to build it well, and what to retire.
- Learning as you go. The depth of a platform means discovering new capabilities while you implement.
Onboarding in Journey Optimizer takes on all four, so your team spends its time on the work that matters.
What you can do today.
Onboarding in Journey Optimizer is available today and helps you:
- Connect via API or upload screenshots. Connect to your current platform (currently Eloqua and Salesforce Marketing Cloud and rapidly expanding) through an API connection, or upload HTML files and journey screenshots directly.
- Convert email templates. Personalization scripting such as AMPScript converts automatically to Adobe’s personalization syntax. You review a before-and-after view, map tokens to profile attributes with suggestions surfaced for you and approve the results.
- Bring content blocks along. AI identifies the content blocks and email references and lets you resolve them as reusable fragments in the same flow.
- Preview journeys before you migrate. Imported journeys render on an interactive canvas, with action items for journey name, content templates, channel configuration, and audience segments flagged inline. Nothing moves until you have reviewed it.
- Track everything in one place. A single dashboard shows what is in progress, migrated, or needs attention across your full inventory of content and journeys.
Our partners are already seeing the difference.
Jerry Helou, Chief Revenue Officer at Softcrylic, says:
“AJO’s new guided onboarding feature has changed the economics of Eloqua migrations for us. On the email migration side, we’d put the tooling at roughly 70% automated… It frees our senior resources to focus on complex configurations and personalization requirements, and as feature coverage expands…we expect migration to stop being the long pole.”
Don’t just arrive, arrive better.
A platform move is a rare chance to step back. The strongest programs don’t recreate what they had. They retire what wasn’t working and build around what the new platform does best: Customer experience orchestration across every channel.
Onboarding in Journey Optimizer is designed around that goal, in five stages:
- Discover what you have: journeys, templates, logic, and dependencies.
- Assess what is worth moving, what should be reimagined, and what can be retired.
- Recommend a clear implementation approach, not a one-to-one copy.
- Execute by converting content, migrating journeys, mapping data, and configuring channels.
- Expand by surfacing relevant capabilities and opportunities as you grow with Journey Optimizer.
Where we’re headed.
We’re expanding in two directions.
The first is depth and breadth of migration. For email content migration, we’re building toward more agentic workflows, intelligent handling of content fragments, and optimization of migrated content. For journey and campaign onboarding, we’re expanding support for campaign and batch workflows, transactional message setup, guided channel configuration, and data mapping into Adobe’s data model. We’re also rapidly expanding across additional source platforms. Our North Star: More of the implementation work handled with guided AI workflows in the product, with your team reviewing and approving instead of rebuilding.
The second is the full lifecycle. Onboarding in Journey Optimizer isn’t a one-time event. As your program grows, the same guided approach will help you adopt new capabilities, such as decisioning or loyalty, and expand to new channels, so your teams can ramp up faster. The goal is maximum value from your Journey Optimizer investment over time.
