Sending in waves over 10 days

I am trying to build a journey using the wave feature to send over 10 days. The send will be flighted each day over the 10 days. 

I have tried to dry run / use simulation to test the journey, and I keep drawing an error to say last wave must be within 6 days and 18 hours from journey start. 

Can waves not go beyond this time? Do we have to keep it within 6 days and 18 hours from journey start or is there a way around this?

​@HelenIn This error occurs when the last scheduled wave of a journey is set beyond the maximum time window that AJO can keep the wave’s audience slice alive. Wave slices created at journey start have a fixed TTL and AJO enforces that all waves must execute before that TTL expires.

So the real cause is that the last wave is scheduled too far in the future and would run after the audience slice has expired. You should move the last wave earlier or reduce the number/spacing of waves.

Can I confirm the TTL is 6 days and 18 hours or is this going to be extended?

​@HelenIn based on testing we have done, its 6 days and 18 hours but we have an internal doc update request raised to confirm the same. I will let you know once its published.

Hi ​@HelenIn,

  • I got the same error when I initially had a wave setup to deliver for each 1 wave/day for 10days. 

 

  • When I changed the wave schedule to anything 15 hours (For 10days = 6.25 days) or less, it worked fine. However, when I changed it to 16 hours, it started throwing errors. 
  • It appears to be an undocumented error. I recommend opening a ticket with Adobe support to investigate the issue.

There is an internal doc update jira already created for this issue as another customer reported this issue.

We will try to get this update done asap.

Are you looking to extend the time the last wave can from journey start? Will it stretch beyond the 6 days an 18h?  For reference, I am looking to do a wave send like this:
