Seed list questions

• Seed list is created per channel, this features available only for email now.
  • For e.g : Administration > Channels > Email settings > Seed list
• Person in the seed list get the email based on  specific test profile. 
• Seed list recipient are different from test profiles.
• One seed list can be reuse in different journey and campaign.

1. Where can a seed list be added?

A seed list is created separately, but it is applied through the email channel configuration, not directly on each individual journey/campaign send step.

The documented flow is:

1. Create the seed list
2. Create or edit an email channel configuration
3. Select the seed list in that configuration
4. Use that configuration in the relevant journey email action or campaign

So in practice, the seed list is attached at the channel configuration level, and then inherited by the specific journey/campaign that uses that configuration.

2. If a test profile is added to the seed list, is the email content based on that test profile?

Yes, Seed addresses do not include profile details, the selected test profile is used to display the personalization data in the message sent to the seed addresses.

A few important details from the doc:

• only one test profile can be selected for a seed list
• seed recipients receive the message in the same conditions, at the same time, and with the same content as the targeted recipients
• but the personalization values shown to the seed addresses come from the selected test profile, since seed addresses themselves do not carry recipient profile data
