Personalization - Using attributes from ZDM ExperienceEvent

Hello, 

I was told that when trying to personalize an email,  using an attribute found on one of my data schemas (XDM ExperienceEvent), that I can’t. 

 

I know I can use the data to create an audience, but I should also be able to use it. The dataset is “enabled for profile” so not sure why I can’t use the attribute.

It’s a guardrail/limitation of AJO. 

Personalization is based on the profile data that are managed by the XDM Individual Profile schema defined in Adobe Experience Platform. The XDM Individual Profile schema is the only schema you can use to personalize content in Journey Optimizer.
