IP Pool setup

Are there any guardrails or considerations to keep in mind when creating an IP pool in a sandbox with 6–7 IPs?

Can we randomly group a few of them into an IP pool, or are there best practices we should follow?

@dn_2024 IP Pool Configuration Is Global and do not group IPs at random.

Group IPs by sending purpose and campaign type:

  • Transactional pool: Password resets, confirmations, etc.
  • Marketing pool: Newsletters, promotions.
  • High-volume/re-engagement pool: Riskier sends, reactivation.

@mayank_gandhi Thank you for your quick response! A follow up question to the answer, how do we identify which IP addresses to add to each of the logical groups mentioned above ? Or do we need to check with Adobe on which IPs to be added to each group as these IPs are available with sandbox provisioning?

@dn_2024 It's not really about which IP you pick for setting up the IP pool. Typically, it hinges on the sending volume for the subdomain you intend to use for sending messages from AJO. There are a few extra factors you might need to think about, such as IP Warming if it's for a marketing subdomain, and so on. I recommend reaching out to an Adobe deliverability consultant and collaborating with them to understand the process.

Thanks, Sathees
