Ability to set permissions on Journeys based on the which actions are in journey?

We have a scenario where we frequently need to get the 'counts' of different sub-segments by using the Journey tool.   Doing this manually using audiences is not practical with the once a day run.   We get these 'counts' to advise the business team of how many will receive each treatment OR exist the journey.

To accomplish this it requires a journey to be published without any emails actions in the journey.

We also have a permission level set that no business team can publish a journey, as this is to avoid accidentally sending an email to the wrong audience.

Is there a permission level option to allow journeys to be published IF they do not contact specific actions, such as email?  This would allow the business team to have more access without incurring risk.

@caveman77 Again my two cents. I'm thinking more about this, we should focus on simplifying the process instead of just controlling the tool to meet our needs. For instance, if someone wants to know the audience count and by accident if someone adds a message to the journey, the current tool won't allow publishing the journey without adding an email template. There are several steps to complete before you can publish a journey with a message to get the count. By all means I'm saying, I believe you've provided clear instructions on how to get the audience count through a single activity in the journey, which is straightforward.

Another idea could be to run a daily query for audience counts and display that data on a dashboard for business users. Also, check out this documentation to see if it helps.

@caveman77 You can control the permission at an object level (OLAC) which you might know already. What you're asking is at a journey level/journey activities level which is not available. I believe the journey simulation feature might help but not sure when this will be available. Also, you could consider opening an enhancement request.

@caveman77

Have you try using audience composition?

- This will create other audiences and if you are only trying to get counts might not be the best option. But you will be sure that you are not sending any actions

Have you try running queries to get the numbers?

-This could solve your issue but not sure if your team has access to query services

This issue is that audience run once a day, the 24hr wait is a current pain point when you are just trying to get a count and this need to revise

@caveman77 in this case if you need audience counts at the moment, and as mentioned by others. You will have to run a query to get them at the moment and you don't need to wait the 24h for the audience evaluation

These are 'correct' options, but not a solution to the business problem I am trying to solve within AJO. I need answers for business teams on the same day.
