Web SDK extension -> question regarding surfaces

What is the real life use-case of " Manually enter surfaces " ?

I create multiple activities in Target with mboxes like " test1 " and " test2 "

And if other conditions are met then these Target activities match with the surface then that activity is displayed?

Could somebody explain how that works?

This option is for AJO surfaces and cannot be used for Target
