Question

Reducing latency for data availability in Customer Journey Analytics (CJA)

I had a question regarding reducing latency for data availability in Customer Journey Analytics (CJA).

We understand that a latency of around 1–2 hours for data to become available in CJA is fairly normal. However, there is a requirement from the client side to have data available sooner, ideally within 15 minutes.

One suggestion was to look into setting up a Streaming API to reduce the delay. From my understanding, the Edge Network to AEP/CJA setup already uses streaming ingestion, and based on Adobe’s SLA documentation, the processing time still appears to be within a similar timeframe.

I’m aware that true real-time capabilities would require additional licensing/capabilities, which the client currently does not have. So my question is:

With the existing AEP/CJA setup and licensing, are there any recommended approaches or best practices to reduce the latency and have data available sooner in CJA?

Would appreciate any guidance from anyone who has worked on similar implementations.

Around 7 min latency requires “ultimate” package specifically real time reporting in cja with edge n/w SDK gives <7 minutes latency. Not achievable on lower tiers. without this, you can get closer to 90 min:

activate streaming on CJA Connection, use edge n/w SDK over analytics source connector, disable stitching if not needed.

We have done a brand new implementation of CJA using edge network and not using Analytics anymore.

If you are entitled to the Ultimate package but do not see the Real-time refresh toggle, create a customer care ticket to request to enable real-time reporting for your organization.

sure since you’re already on edge n/w, the only way to get <7 min latency is through real time reporting i.e “cja Ultimate” if you don’t have it then it’s purely a licensing upgrade conversation now.

You can ref here- https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics-platform/using/cja-components/real-time-reporting/real-time

You must have the Ultimatepackage in order to use the functionality described in this section. Contact your administrator if you’re unsure which Customer Journey Analytics package you have.
