Make "Build Rule" the default option when creating segment

The "Compose Audience" feature encourages users to approach audience creation as assembling building blocks. While most users are more comfortable using rule-based methods. The audience creation is clearly moving toward natural language-driven audience creation through generative AI agents. That said, providing clear help guides and enhanced documentation will likely accelerate user adoption of features like "Compose Audience" more effectively than making it the default and assuming users will figure it out on their own.

Yes, me too using rule builder for almost 99%, but while looking at the responses from Adobe community advisor, its fine to keep this way 🙂

Thank you for your comments and insights. I align with Adobe's vision for the future and think it is great!!!

However I still strongly believe "build rule" should be the default option right now.

In the current state, the UI misleads users into thinking "composing audiences" would be the "basic way to go", when it is not. This may lead unexperienced users creating compositions and "eating up" the limit of 10 compositions per sandbox.

This is even reinforced by the FAQ that states:

There are also a few other caveats of "audience composition" VS "build rule" as stated in the FAQ:

Perhaps in the future, when Audience Composition evolves and limitations are removed such as "10 per sandbox" or "running once per day", then it would make sense to have this as a default option.

Just to clarify, my previous thoughts on AI-generated audience creation and its future directions are based on my personal observations and experience. I agree with you about not setting a default value by default, as it can often lead to confusion - just as you pointed out. I’d advocate for giving users the option to set a default if they choose, rather than enforcing one or the other.
