Deprecated Fields

Hi All,

 

I’m looking to tidy up fields in our schemas that are activated for profile, and have been looking into field deprecation.  I fully understand deprecating a field doesn’t delete it, just removes it from the schema view, but I was also hoping it would clean it up from the profile view, audience builder…  Am I doing something wrong or is this by design and it will only be deprecated from the schema itself?

Deprecating a field only hides it from the schema design view. It does not remove the field from Profile or Audience Builder. Existing data and dependencies remain intact. This behavior is by design to avoid breaking live use cases. To fully clean up, you must stop ingestion and remove dependencies manually
