Workflow purge unable to purge huge number of archive workflow instances

Hi Everyone,

We noticed in our AEM environment that the number of archive workflows are over 2 million and then we have configured Adobe Granite Workflow Purge Configuration to purge Completed/Aborted/Failed workflows of a certain model but it does not seem to purge, we notice that there is a query traversal for the configured workflow model which is affecting the author environment performance.

We missed to configure purge scheduler earlier and by the time we noticed there are 2 million archived workflow instances.

Can anyone help us how we can clean up or purge this huge number of workflow instances now?

Hi

This thread might help https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/adobe-experience-manager/delete-large-amount-of-worflow-instances/td-p/196869

http://localhost:4502/system/console/jmx/com.adobe.granite.workflow:type=Maintenance

We may start from low number and based on performance and time it take we can increase or decrease

Thanks

Sorry for the delay in getting back, there were more than 2 million archive workflows, scheduler to purge workflows and deleted few from crx/explorer. Offline tar compactor also helped in resolving the issue.
