What is the difference: dc:title{{String: multi }} vs dc:title{{String}} ??

Hi,

 

6.5 Onsite. Not a developer, but a DAM Librarian 😄  

 

When I export metadata in CSV with the chosen dc:title property, I sometimes get two columns in Excel: dc:title{{String: multi }} and dc:title{{String}}. 

If images are from third party Stock reps like Shutter or iStock - some images seem to have metadata in either one of the two columns and almost never in both. 

 

What is the difference in AEM DAM environment between these two properties?

Which one gets burned in (embedded) permanently into the assets title metadata? 

Where does each of the mentioned property display within AEM DAM environment or which one is prioritised over the other?

When importing assets from third-party stock providers like Shutterstock or iStock, variations in metadata formatting can lead to inconsistencies in how the dc:title properties are populated. This might explain why some images have dc:title as multi string array.


dc:title (single-value) is typically embedded into the XMP metadata of the asset: it is the standard field used for title embedding in AEM DAM.

    Thank you for clarifying this, @giuseppebaglio

    Remains to test if the asset that has both properties (single and multi value) and two different data in each field, which will the AEM DAM prioritise. For example asset1 has dc:title "Hello" and dc:title multi "Night". Will the UI display Hello, or will it display Night.

    The UI will most likely display "Hello" because that is how it is designed.
