Using Google Custom Search Site Restricted JSON API with AEM

We have a company website running on AEM 6.5 on our servers and are looking for an search solution that offers autocomplete, and recognizes PDF/Excel/PPT files along with our web pages. I'm not a developer but we have our own dev team to implement. After a day of searching (ironically on Google) I have not found an answer. Can Google Custom Search Site Restricted JSON API be implemented with AEM 6.5?  -Thanks!
