Question

trying to clone AEM git repository getting fatal: unable to access 'https://git.cloudmanager.adobe.com/unionpacific/upcomProgram-p141624-uk83831/': CONNECT tunnel failed, response 407

When I try to clone /pull/push the code changes from the repository I am getting the below error like

fatal: unable to access 'https://git.cloudmanager.adobe.com/unionpacific/upcomProgram-p141624-uk83831/': CONNECT tunnel failed, response 407

I am having the Developer access to the repository sandbox and each environment from recent days I am getting above error previously I am able to perform day to day operations on the repository

The HTTP 407 response usually points to a proxy authentication issue rather than an AEM repository permission problem.

Since you were previously able to clone, pull and push, first check whether anything changed recently in your company proxy/VPN configuration or network policies.

You can also check whether Git has a proxy configured using:

git config --show-origin --get-regexp 'http.*proxy'

If you are behind a corporate proxy, ask your IT/network team to verify that proxy authentication is working and that HTTPS traffic to git.cloudmanager.adobe.com:443 is allowed.

Try to clone/pull from another approved network or workstation as well. That should help establish whether the issue is specific to your machine/network.

Your Cloud Manager Developer role is unlikely to be the cause here, as the 407 response is coming from the proxy before Git authentication with Adobe takes place.
