Translation Job | Provide a error message if imported zip file does not match exported

If you you use the option “Export” to manually download the translation zip file and by accident pick a zip file with wrong content for “Import”, AEM switches the status to “Translation in progress” but gives NO warning or notification that is stops the import actually and why.

This is bad user experience as user does not know if process is running - actually you would think so as status change and stays “Translation in progress”. To let the user know what is really going on is essential! Please add a proper notification mechanism here indicating the user what real status is and why zip file is not processed/imported!

Thanks!

This does sound like a UX issue. Changing the status to “Translation in progress” without confirming that the import was actually accepted can be misleading.

At a minimum, AEM should validate the imported ZIP and provide clear feedback if it cannot be processed, ideally explaining why, rather than leaving the user with a status that suggests the translation is running.

A notification, together with an accurate status update, would make this workflow much less confusing.
