Would like to ask if there's a way to setup publish to preview site in local AEM instance.

In the end, for testing purposes it's not different from a normal publish. Instead of configuring it behind the "publish" replication agent, you need to create a "preview" replication agent for it.

Hi @lyonmartin
Not sure if this is possible but in local you can work directly with publishers.

Hi @lyonmartin

You cannot setup preview server on local. Instead you can setup a publish instance and use it for the same purpose.
Please refer this link to setup the publish instance locally: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/experience-manager-learn/foundation/development/set-up-a-local-aem-development-environment#steps

Thanks,

Asutosh

@lyonmartin Unfortunately, you can not do that locally. This is not even possible with RDEs in the AEM as cloud.

If that's the case, is there a process or event that I can listen so I can check if the publish action will be for preview or publish?
