Search and promote rules

Hi,

I have configured different types of sort-by and need to enable and disable the sort options available in sort-by based on url parameter.

How can this be configured in search and promote?

This document only talks about integration of AEM with search and promote. No business/pre-search/post-search rules related detail is provided.

Plus the search and promote help document only describes high level of rule creation.

Please guide.
