RTE customization Link plugin

Hi All,

I want to customize the RTE link plugin. The requirement is, i need to add "Opens in new window" text to 'title' attribute if target is new window. So that whenever we hover on a link, it displays title+"Opens in new window".

For e.g. if title attribute is "new link", and target attribute is "_blank" then the hover text should be "New link, Opens in a new window".

This will be a big customization.

Don't we have a way to just edit/modify the title attribute when it is rendered?

Is there any documentation on customizing the link plugin? We are looking to add a drop down field.
