Query: JDK 17 & JDK 21 Support for AEM 6.5

Hello,

I’m looking for information regarding Adobe's plans for supporting JDK 17 and JDK 21 for AEM 6.5. Has there been any official communication or timeline shared about when support for these Java versions will begin?

 

Appreciate any insights or updates from the community or Adobe representatives.

According to what has been presented by Adobe on adaptTo conference, there will be new version of AEM 6.5 2025 that will be released next year. It will be technical release that will bring Java 17 support, no major features are planned to be part of it.

Please check presentation and recording under https://adapt.to/2024/schedule/aem-65-and-java-17 for any publicly available details.

In December 2024 beta program should start, again details can be found in the presentation.
