Hi

As per my knowledge CQ5.5 doesn't have any servlet engine. So we cannot use it as a portal. To use it as portal we need to deply the CQ5.5 war in a appserver and then we can use it's portal functionality. Please confirm if it is correct. And if I have only CQ5.5 standalone jar file only, can we use it for portal functionality through any configuration or extracting the jar or through any other way?

Yes and No :)

CQ5.5 does include a servlet engine. It just doesn't provide a portlet container. For that you need to install CQ 5.5 in an app server. You should use the WAR distribution of CQ for this.
