Permissions for Modify and Delete

Hi,

If i give permissions for Read, Modify, Create and Delete for a group for one site, all the child pages also inherit those. If i remove Delete permissions for the entire folder, modify permissions for all child pages are getting removed too. In useradmin it is looking like in the attachment below.

Hoping some one would help on this
